Southeast of Broad & Spring Garden — lofts, the Rail Park, Union Transfer, and the Spring Arts strip you can walk without crossing Broad.
From the SE corner of the intersection — today’s 511 N Broad, historically Odd Fellows’ Broadway Hall and later Automobile Row — Callowhill drops toward Vine Street through former factories and new towers. Neighbors still call it the Loft District; some still say Eraserhood, after the industrial streets that shaped David Lynch’s Eraserhead. The city does not use a single official name for every block, but the Callowhill Neighborhood Association is the civic voice for the area east of Broad and south of Spring Garden.
What you actually use from Broad & Spring Garden is close: Union Transfer and the Spring Garden dining strip to the east, Underground Arts a few minutes south, and Phase 1 of the Rail Park on Noble Street. Broad + Noble sits on the park’s Broad Street end. It is the quadrant for a night out that starts with pizza or a taproom and ends at a show.
