Southwest of Broad & Spring Garden — Parkway museums, Baldwin Park, and Center City living with the Broad Street Line at the corner.
This quadrant is the northwest edge of Center City: Spring Garden Street on the north, Broad on the east, and the Parkway and Schuylkill pulling you west. Logan Square itself is one of William Penn’s original squares. For someone standing at Broad & Spring Garden, the useful version is simpler — you are three subway minutes from City Hall and a protected-lane ride from the Franklin Institute, the Barnes, and the Art Museum.
Tower Place occupies the old State Office Building on the southwest corner of Broad & Spring Garden (also addressed as 1400 Spring Garden). That same southwest block was Baldwin Locomotive Works in the 19th century. Community College of Philadelphia sits just up Spring Garden. The Logan Square Neighborhood Association covers civic life southwest of the intersection.
