Signature landmarks
- Common Threads Painted on the west wall of the former Thaddeus Stevens School, east of Broad at Spring Garden. Local students appear beside antique figurines in one of Philadelphia’s most recognized murals.
- Divine Lorraine Willis G. Hale’s 1892–94 high Victorian landmark — early luxury apartments, then hotel, then Father Divine’s pioneering racially integrated hotel. After years vacant, it was restored as apartments and remains one of North Broad’s most recognizable towers, about a 5–7 minute walk north of Spring Garden.
- The Met Philadelphia Restored historic opera house for major concerts, comedy, and touring productions — a few blocks north of the intersection.
