Spring Garden
Northwest of Broad & Spring Garden — brick townhouses, Fairmount Avenue, and the protected bike lane west toward the Parkway and the Schuylkill.
Cross Broad heading west on Spring Garden Street and the scale changes quickly: three-story houses, small front gardens, and side streets toward Green and Fairmount. South of Spring Garden you pick up taller apartment buildings and, farther west, Museum Row. The Spring Garden CDC is the neighborhood’s development and advocacy home base.
From the NW corner you are close to Retro Fitness, Kelliann’s, Community College of Philadelphia, and the Route 43 / bike-lane run to the Art Museum and river trail. In the late 1940s this corner was Elmer Harold Wolf Chevrolet. GIANT is across Spring Garden to the south, in the LVL North podium at 510 N Broad.
